Government of Nauru enters into a strategic agreement with India’s leading BLK Super Speciality Hospital
Nauru: India’s eminent healthcare facility, BLK Super Speciality Hospital has recently signed a strategic agreement with the Republic of Nauru (RoN) Hospital under the Ministry of Health and Medical Sciences (MOH & MS). The pact aims to help set up a platform for mutual sharing of medical, scientific and educational collaborations that will further help to strengthen the healthcare system in Nauru through RoN Hospital, which is the only healthcare facility in the country.
This collaboration was signed by Mr. Naresh Kapoor, Executive Director, BLK Super Speciality Hospital and Mr. Valdon Dowiyogo, Hon’ble Minister, Health & Medical Sciences, Government of Nauru. The two institutions in particular will help each other in capacity building for their health professionals and facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills through their highly specialized pool of eminent doctors and world class infrastructure.
According to the agreement, the New Delhi-based BLK Super Speciality Hospital will help to conduct regular OPDs, facilitate observer-ship courses and CMEs. In addition, BLK Super Speciality Hospital would also advise the medical staff at RoN Hospital on protocols, guidelines and processes for the various treatments undertaken.
Mr Naresh Kapoor, Executive Director, BLK Super Specialty Hospital said, “We are extremely happy to enter into this strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Medical Sciences, Nauru. The agreement would strengthen the relationship between the two countries and provide people of Nauru with best in class medical facilities. For the next one year, both the hospitals shall be engaged in working together to strengthen each other’s capabilities. For this, BLK Super Speciality Hospital will provide highly qualified medical experts, facilitate students’ exchange programs and assist the medical staff regarding procurement of equipments for use in RoN Hospital for surgical camps.”
Under the agreement, BLK Super Speciality Hospital will also assist RoN Hospital in setting up of telemedicine and tele-radiology facilities for the clinical staff and patients to avail expert opinion from eminent doctors at the hospital in Delhi. With tele-radiology facility, the clinical staff at RoN shall be able to consult and read CT Scans, Radiology reports and Ultrasound Scans in a timely manner.
Mr Valdon Dowiyogo, Hon’ble Minister, Health & Medical Sciences, Government of Nauru, said, “This MoU will pave the way for further cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries and improve healthcare facilities for the people of Nauru. I am certain that the pact will help to strengthen the overall healthcare system at Nauru. The partnership will set up a platform of mutual sharing and collaboration to enhance the services currently being provided at RoN Hospital.”
