The summer blues are best beaten by a jugalbandi amidst talented artists playing various unique, musical instruments. Not only does music transcend boundaries but it also forges relationships.

With this in mind, the three-year-oldNavsangeet Academy of Navi Mumbai had organized Anubhav, a musical concert at Navi Mumbai Sports Academy (NMSA) on February 14, 2016. A one-of-its-kind musical academy, it boasts of strength of 50 students in 5 centres acrossNavi Mumbai.

Students are taught in the traditional guru shishyaparampara. “Unlike other classes where students join for short term courses and then perform within a short span of time, we believe in long-term authentic form of training,” said founder and organizer Navneeth Rao. 

The musical programme was attended by high-profile dignitaries.Director General National Safety Council India Vinod Kumar B. Sant was the chief guest. Pt. VishwanathShirodkar and VidushiSeemaShirodkar performed the unique swaralayasamvaad. While Chinmay Dixit rendered his voice to melodic raagas, AbhishekKatheplayed the harmonium. He was accompanied by Navneeth Rao on table.

Focused on high-quality performance, the musical event was attended by more than 200 aficionados. “We plan to do more such programmes under the Anubhav series. One senior and one upcoming artist will perform in each programme,” he added.

An engineer by profession, Pt. VishwanathShirodkar has devoted himself to music since last 25 years. A disciple of talyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar, he has traveled extensively. VidushiSeemaShirodkar is a graduate of SNDT college in Mumbai. A disciple of Padma BhushanPt. TulsidasBorkar, she has accompanied DrAshviniBhideDeshpandeand other prominent names in the musical industry for their concerts.
