Barcelona, Mumbai, 4 September, 2014: Accelya, the leading provider of financial and business intelligence solutions to the Airline industry, today announced that Vueling, the leading airline at Barcelona-El Prat Airport, has selected REVERA NEXT PRA - Accelya’s Passenger Revenue Accounting solution - to support its growing passenger volumes and evolving business model.

Vueling has experienced phenomenal business growth in the past few years. Route & network expansion, distribution through travel agencies and new interline agreements are few of the changes to the airline’s business model. As a result, they now need to comply with industry rules and regulations that they had not experienced before. Vueling started looking for a revenue accounting solution to meet these specific requirements. After extensive study, they found Accelya’s REVERA NEXT PRA to be the best solution.

“Accelya is an expert in airline financial solutions and has been our service provider for sales audit, card management and interline billing. When we decided to go hybrid, we found REVERA NEXT to be the best solution for our requirements”, said Josep Mauri, Head of Administration and Revenue Accounting, Vueling

Accelya will provide the solution to Vueling on a hosted model. It will also help Vueling to seamlessly integrate REVERA NEXT PRA with Navitaire Open Skies - the airline’s passenger service system.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Neela Bhattacherjee, SBU Head, Accelya Kale Solutions Limited, said, “The aviation industry is witnessing an increasing trend in low cost carriers going hybrid. Business strategies, such as selling through travel agencies and interlining with airline partners, come with their own set of challenges. REVERA NEXT is perfectly suited to overcome these challenges of hybrid carriers. We are confident that REVERA NEXT will support Vueling in its business transformation.”

Mr. Jordi Arcalis, Commercial & Customer Relations Director, Accelya, said, “Vueling has been our customer for sales audit, card management and interline billing services. This new deal marks another significant milestone in our relationship with them.”

The engagement with Accelya will enable Vueling to:

  • Achieve the scalability required for their growth
  • Achieve high accuracy in proration and tax management, including European VAT rules
  • Expedite the roll-out of new interline agreements
  • Declare revenues accurately and on time
  • Meet the most stringent auditing standards with the help of inbuilt operational and accounting controls in the solution
